In 2015 I ran a Phinx product survey to gauge interest from the community and decide what to work on next. It was a quiet success and I was fortunate enough to receive hundreds of responses. I’m running a similar survey again now and it would be awesome if you could spare 30 seconds of your time by helping to complete it.

Last year Phinx suffered from a lack of attention on my behalf. Whilst I was busy advocating the project on the conference circuit, the codebase itself stagnated from any form of substantial progress. As I’ve written before this is mainly due to my paying jobs - i.e. the ones where I spend the majority of my time. Startups aren’t easy especially if your involved with more than one.

As you’ve probably noticed the main idea behind the survey is to gauge commercial interest. It’s an idea thats been brewing in the back of my mind for quite some time. My goal is to dedicate a fixed amount of time towards the project every week, but this means scaling back on other priorities and obviously it is also necessary to derive some form of income.

I’d love to throw more time at Phinx. It’s been an incredible 5 years so far. It’s also great to see how supportive the wider PHP community is and the close friends I’ve made over the years.
